Our Story
An ethical ferret Breeder
We are well-known Ferret Breeders in Pretoria, South Africa. We have been involved with breeding ferrets since 2016.
We saw the need for healthy bred ferrets in South Africa, after we were scammed once and twice nearly prior, trying to purchase a ferret in South Africa and then eventually got to purchased our first "legit" ferret, only to discover later on it was through a backyard breeder and we received an inbred baby that did not grow, had problems with his limbs and lived for only 3 weeks.
We decided to take our new baby ferret to the vet the next day, as we could see that he was not moving normally and we received no after sale support, we were left totally devastated.
We were given incorrect information pertaining to diet and welfare of the ferret kit according to the vet.
Vet confirmed that it was a badly inbred baby, that was malnourished, it was suffering from ataxia and posterior paresis and that the breeder did not have knowledge about ferrets according to what he observed in the kit.
The breeder just threw her hands up in the air when we informed her of the diagnosis the vet made and later about the passing of our new baby ferret.
Our Philosophy
Our main priority is ensuring the health and well-being of all our ferrets from conception to birth and throughout the very first weeks until they leave with their forever family - and beyond.
Educating new ferret owners on how to keep their ferrets healthy and happy and provide the best possible life for their ferrets in South Africa.
How to care for your ferret
All new owners will get the Anemone Ferret Care Guide.
We provide the new owners with all the information pertaining to diet, exercise and over all well-being of their new family member.
We take time aside when you come and collect your ferret kit, going through the care guide with you again,
explaining diet, exercise and over all well-being of your ferret.
We are always available on WhatsApp, day and night for any additional enquiries or concerns you might have.
No one will ever have to go through what we did. That is the promise we made when we started breeding.
